Dee's trip to Vic Falls

by Dee Dlamini

I have just returned from Victoria Falls & Chobe, these destinations are just two of my many favourites. It was everything I imagined and more - the water levels of the mighty Zambezi are higher than they have been in 10 years. The boat cruise on the Chobe River was the highlight of my trip, as I have never seen so many Elephants enjoying themselves on the river bank.  The birdlife was phenomenal and very colorful.  The black egret caught my eye by it's very unique way of catching fish, brilliant....  You hear all about how big the Falls are, but until you stand there facing it - 730 million liters per minute - It truly is a spectacular sight and we got very wet from the spray. The Boma Dinner at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge on our last night was a cultural awakening - we got to experience African culture at it's best from drumming to dancing, braiding your hair right there and having a your palm read by a traditional fortune teller - it all happened that night.

Well until my next adventure..............
