Happy Wallowing

The Lodge has an "Out of Africa" feel about it, and leaves you feeling totally relaxed and refreshed. On your arrival you will be met by one of the many happy faces, that make Hippo Hollow such a great destination, the tall thatch buildings of the public areas are  where you will find the all important bar and restaurant. The beautiful restaurant, which is in the process of being upgraded, is a full service restaurant and bar with great views over the Sabie River with frequent visits from the local Hippo’s in the area.
Accommodation can be split into two categories, hotel style rooms and chalets, with the hotel style rooms being more suitable to larger groups, or those that prefer the luxury of air conditioning and a TV.  The chalets - my favourites - are situated along the river bank or within the sub-tropical garden and offer accommodation that is both clean and fantastic and great value for money, suitable for independent travellers.

Hippo Hollow has a fantastic legacy and a very good name in the hospitality industry in South Africa, and a  favourite amoung Rhino Africa consultants in the area.  To Phillip, Andre and the Hippow Hollow Team, thank you for showing us around this very special place.
