Kensington Place Boutique Hotel

by David Ryan

Breakfast at one of Cape Town’s best loved Boutique Hotels is always a treat, so naturally us Rhinos jumped at the opportunity to see the all new Kensington Place.  It is no wonder this beautiful property, situated in the quiet, leafy suburb of Higgovale overlooking the City Bowl has been nominated for and won so many prestigious awards.

For 10 years Kensington Place has set and raised the Boutique Hotel bench-mark. Granted, having Table Mountain as your backyard and the City Bowl your garden makes the job that bit easier, but Chris’s attention to detail and Sasha’s management skills ensure that Kensington Place remains Cape Town’s most prestigious boutique hotel.

From the new entrance through the herb garden to a new dining area, bar and bathrooms, the hotel has been wonderfully transformed.  If, like me, you appreciate a television in your city hotel room, then you are in for a real treat – large, but unobtrusive flat screen TV’s adorn the wall of your suite.  Mini bars, stocked with Champagne and water, based on Chris’s belief that this is really all one needs in life, are new additions, bearing in mind the 24 hr room service facility still remains.

Laptop computers with wireless broadband facilities are also now available for those guests that prefer to check their mail in the privacy of their rooms, making Kensington Place the perfect city hotel, to sit back relax and take-in the beautiful Cape.

To Sasha and her incredible team, thank you for the awesome breakfast, the bubbles and gifts.  We look forward to sending you many more Rhino Africa guests to spoil.
