A very big thank you for organising the perfect introduction to Africa!
Our schedule was fantastic and one destination flowed perfectly into the next. The ‘boutique’ hotels in South Africa were amazing. The Camps Bay Retreat was a perfect start and set the tone for the entire holiday. We didn’t think things could get better until the culinary delights, excellent wines and scenic beauty that is Franschhoek simply blew us a way. All this without mentioning ‘The Franschhoek’ which is the best run accommodation in the world with the best staff! The personal touch afforded by Conrad and his team made the Hotel warm, comfortable and a fantastic compliment to South African hospitality.
The Victoria Falls hotel was an excellent choice as the Falls are far better viewed from the Zimbabwe side. The colonial feel and history associated with this hotel felt like you were being transported back in time. The grounds were fabulous and the excellent and friendly staff serving ‘high tea’ completed the picture… perfect!
Onwards to our safari and I can’t enthuse enough about ‘Chobe Chilwero’. This place is magic! The ambience, the staff, the food, the friendliness and not least the wildlife is simply a must add to anyone’s itinerary. The abundance of elephant, hippo, deer, croc’s, lions, giraffe etc etc etc was truly a sight to behold and the 5* luxury that was our villa simply put the icing on the cake.
Obviously, having been totally spoilt we were looking forward to ‘Londo Lodge’ in Mozambique where we needed pampering to recover from our exertions of the previous 13 days. I forgot to mention that we walked up and down Table Mountain (cable car not working – mechanical problem) and the views were amazing. With only 5 villas this boutique resort takes some beating and PJ and Evelyn are the perfect hosts. Went big game fishing with PJ which was fantastic and enjoyed daily delicacies served up by Evelyn…….one hell of a chef!! Add the privacy aspect and the amazing hands of Patience the masseuse and this was the perfect end to a perfect holiday.
Thanks again for your recommendations, efficiency and professionalism in ensuring our 25 year anniversary vacation was a complete success.
