Q&A

1.  What do you love most about your job?
I love my job because I love working with people. It is very rewarding to see people’s dreams come true and know that I helped make it happen. I have a passion and enthusiasm for what I do and each day I strive to do the best for my clients.

2. What are the top 3 destinations you have visited in Africa?
I would highly recommend Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar. This is a perfect East Africa Safari Combination, especially to witness the Wildebeest Migration and then end with a few days on the beach.

3. What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten on your travels?
I ate Mopane worms while in Victoria Falls at a place called The Boma – a rather unique cultural experience that features a variety of game meats and traditional Zimbabwean dishes. They have great entertainment, from traditional dancers to a local witchdoctor!

4. What is your most memorable safari moment?
Experiencing the Wildebeest Migration first hand. Being smack bang in the middle of some two million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra and gazelle travelling a year-long route in a snorting, dust-raising column that can stretch for 40km, is one of Nature’s greatest shows.

5. What is the one thing you have to take with you on every trip?
A really good camera is essential. And remember to bring lots of memory cards to capture every moment!

6. Where in the World do you still want to travel to?
I want to go to Uganda and try Gorilla Trekking. Egypt is also on my list so I can see those pyramids and finally Europe to experience the culture and history that it has to offer.

7. If you could go on a dream safari with anyone at all, who would it be and why?
It will have to be former SA president Nelson Mandela. because I have always admired him.

8. What is your favourite (city/beach) hotel that you always recommend to clients travelling to Africa?
Mnemba Island Lodge in Mnemba Island, Zanzibar.

9. What are your top 3 favourite safari lodges that you always recommend to clients travelling to Africa?

10. Where is your favourite place to eat in Cape Town?
Bukhara Restaurant for some fabulous Indian cuisine.
