Q&A

1. What do you love most about your job? Putting together dream holidays for my clients so that they can create lifetime memories of our beautiful country and parts of the great African continent. It is incredibly rewarding when I get positive feedback from them.

2. What are your top 3 destinations you have visited in Africa? Sabi Sands Reserve in the Kruger, Zambia & Botswana. These destinations are easily combined in one trip, allowing you to experience plenty phenomenal sights. Clients always return back home with a rejuvenated feeling after visiting Africa.

3. What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten on your travels? I’m not very adventurous with ‘slimey’ foods as the textures really put me off, but I’ve had snails and have acquired an addiction for them!

4. What is your most memorable safari moment? On my very first safari, I got to see two leopards mating. It was quite a show and apparently a very rare occurrence.  After the many years of going on safari, I have never seen leopards mating again.

5. What is the one thing you have to take with you on every trip? Besides a camera? A list of my medications and allergies. Remember that you are anonymous when away from home.

6. Where in the World do you still want to travel to? I would love to visit the Maldives and Uganda for Gorilla Trekking.

7. If you could go on a dream safari with anyone at all, who would it be and why? Fictional/Real; Dead/Alive. It would have to be Nelson Mandela on his first safari after he was released from prison as he would’ve had quite a different perspective on life.

8. What is your favourite (city/beach) hotel that you always recommend to clients travelling to Africa? Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town for the city or Tintswalo Atlantic in Hout Bay for ocean view.

9. What are your top 3 favourite safari lodges that you always recommend to clients travelling to Africa? Londolozi Private Game Reserve in Kruger, Morukuru in Madikwe and Singita Pamushana in Zimbabwe.

10. Where is your favourite place to eat in Cape Town? The Grand in Granger Bay and La Mouette in Sea Point.
