Africa, you old vixen. Our love for you knows no bounds.
And so we wanted to celebrate the love we have for our home and do something a little different this Valentine’s Day. We decided to celebrate with making an homage to Africa’s beauty and allure. We scooted around our home city of Cape Town to make a video that we are extremely proud of. We think it captures the spirit of Africa beautifully.

The video shows our favourite places in Cape Town. We visited locations like Chapman’s Peak, Lion’s Head, Newlands Forest, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Clifton beach. We also shot at two of our favourite hotels, The One Above near the Waterfront and La Residence in Franschhoek.

During this coming week, we will be collecting stories and images from around the globe showcasing the moment Africa captured the hearts of our many travellers. We would love you to send us unique stories of the time you fell in love with Africa. You can also share these stories and images on our social media channels using the hashtag #MyAfricanMoment. Or email Irene at email@example.com. Show us your love for Africa!

Matt discovered a passion for writing in the six years he spent travelling abroad. He worked for a turtle sanctuary in Nicaragua, in an ice cream factory in Norway and on a camel safari in India. He was a door-to-door lightbulb-exchanger in Australia, a pub crawl guide in Amsterdam and a journalist in Colombia. Now, he writes and travels with us.
