12 Photos that Show Why Cape Town is Considered the Most Beautiful City in the World

By Matthew Sterne on February 23, 2017

It was once said that Cape Town, lying at the tip of Africa, is like a ballet shoe on the heel of a boxer. The author was probably referring to the grace and splendour of this celebrated city. At dusk and dawn especially, the golden light of the southern sun transforms the city into a place of incomparable beauty.

The following photos are excellent examples of this. The photos are just some of our recent entries in Africa’s Photographer of the Year, a competition searching for the best photographs of Africa with a grand prize of a 10-day safari for two valued at $25,000. Cape Town is the first of four categories. The others are the Big 5, Victoria Falls and Wild Africa. To enter your photos or find out more, click here.

Now then, let’s take a look at those photos!
