„I have always been terrible at capturing panning shots but finally I got the shot of my dreams. Hundreds of flamingo were coming in to land at Walvis Bay foreshore in Namibia. „There is a special place right next to the main road into the Serengeti. Two big round rocks which form part of the Simba Kopjes. You can find lions on these rocks on most visits to the Serengeti. They are referred to as the „Simba Pride“. These rocks on the side of the road are special to me because they are the start of the Serengeti and I start smiling, especially if there are lions on top. The lions look so small in their natural habitat and I love that. I always tell my guide and good friend Firoz that he must sprinkle my ashes here one day :)“ – @bclowphotography #RAtakeover ____________ #safari #africa #travel #photography #wildlifephotography #adventure #wanderlust #travelgram #instatravel #animals #explore #travelphotography #naturelovers #naturephotography #africanwildlife #natgeo #gamedrive #luxurytravel #safaritravel #travelgoals #safariaddict

„A wild cheetah jumped up onto our car whilst on safari in the Serengeti. Unfortunately we were in a position where we could not move our vehicle or discourage the cheetah to move without a human/animal injury. My driver told me to stay seated and just relax and enjoy the encounter. The cheetah sat above my sunroof and dangled his paw right in front of my face. He stayed there for about 5 min and then became bored and moved off. This has been a very controversial image for me. I unfortunately received a lot if criticism from well known wildlife photographers. At the end of the day my guide made the best descision to keep everyone safe and not harm the cheetah and I managed to capture a wild moment that I will truly cherish forever. I named my safari company after this encounter „Duma Safaris“, Duma is the Swahili word for Cheetah.“ – @bclowphotography #RAtakeover ____________ #safari #africa #travel #photography #wildlifephotography #adventure #wanderlust #travelgram #instatravel #animals #explore #travelphotography #naturelovers #naturephotography #africanwildlife #natgeo #gamedrive #luxurytravel #safaritravel #travelgoals #safariaddict

„My photo safari guests and I followed a trio of cheetah siblings on the Ndutu plains, Serengeti for a few days. They were very hungry and were not having any luck with catching prey. They decided to go after a herd of zebra but were completely punching above their weight. It is amazing to see how cheetah lock on to a specific target. In this image I managed to capture the cheetah in full flight.“ – @bclowphotography #RAtakeover ____________ #safari #africa #travel #photography #wildlifephotography #adventure #wanderlust #travelgram #instatravel #animals #explore #travelphotography #naturelovers #naturephotography #africanwildlife #natgeo #gamedrive #luxurytravel #safaritravel #travelgoals #safariaddict

We sat there for almost an hour waiting for one brave soul to lead the charge across the river, but none seemed to have the courage. Then, finally, the tension broke and just like that they were off. „Maasai Mara, Kenya – Whoever jumps the highest gets the most ladies! Jumping is a traditional sign of manliness here; exercised by the ‚Warriors,‘ along with crazy cool staccato a’cappella songs and dances. The jumping warriors here gave us one more unforgettable experience…we drank the FRESH blood of a cow mixed with ‚fresh‘ milk. The cow is held, tourniqueted, and then a bow with a tiny arrow-head is shot from point-blank, piercing the jugular and sending fresh rosy blood rocketing through the air – then into a cup with milk (75% blood, 25% milk) and then down our hatches. The cow’s wound is patched with dung, and then off it goes to continue its life. The beverage’s ironiness does stick with you for a while, and I definitely had a full-on blood smile (like when you drink way too much red wine) after that fearful swig. Tastes pretty good, actually, and I’m now fully on team Edward. #AandATakeTheWorld” – @heyheyandrew #RAtakeover ___________________ #MaasaiMara #maasai #kenya #africa #africantraditions #traveleastafrica #travelgram #travelgoals #loves_wildlife #safariaddict #traveladdict #lifestyleblogger #travelphotography

“African Scops Owl – The call of this little owl is synonymous with the dark hours of the bushveld. Although vocal, the bird is no larger than your hand and its prey consists mainly of insects. The scops owl is a truly nocturnal predator and for this exposure I intentionally switched my flash off, so as to portray the silent hunter of the night.” – @gregdutoit #RAtakeover ____________________ #rhinoafrica #rhinogram #animallove #loves_wildlife #wildanimals #bucketlistgoals #travelafrica #travelgram #luxurytravel #wildlife #wildlifephotography #africanwildlife #safarigram #safari #safariphoto #safariaddict #travelgoals

„Bat Blizzard – Sneaking off on my own to the fringe of the forest, in the pitch dark of my last morning in Kasanka National Park in Zambia, I set my camera up on a tripod and waited. Fearing that the trip would end without me having captured a single image, except for copious amounts of migrating dust spots that were supposedly bats, but way too small in the frame, I waited rather anxiously in the dark with only my headlamp for comfort. The sun seemed to take forever to rise and when it finally did, I looked to the opposite horizon and low and behold, I saw an almighty bat blizzard on its way back to the forest, after a night’s foraging and gorging on wild fruit. Waiting for the blizzard to engulf the sun, I hit the shutter button with the finesse of a machine gun operator. The bat blizzard continued for the next hour as I came to realize that I had just witnessed the largest mammal migration on planet earth.“ – @gregdutoit #RAtakeover ____________________ #rhinoafrica #rhinogram #animallove #loves_wildlife #wildanimals #bucketlistgoals #travelafrica #travelgram #luxurytravel #wildlife #wildlifephotography #africanwildlife #safarigram #safari #safariphoto #safariaddict #travelgoals

“Okavango Lioness – The Okavango Delta in Botswana is one of the most pristine habitats left on planet earth. Each year the Okavango River ends its journey, not in the sea like most rivers, but rather by flowing into the Kalahari Desert. The floodwaters are shallow, gentle, pure and persistent with crystal clear reflections. On this morning, we were in the Selinda concession when we received a radio call to say that two lionesses were heading towards Joubert’s Crossing. Knowing that the flood had reached the crossing we raced there and just as we got to it, we saw the two lionesses approaching the water tentatively. These lionesses live on the fringe of the delta and are not as used to the water as the lion in the central part. They did not like the water and opted rather to leap over it. Grabbing my second camera body, with my 70-200mm lens attached, I zoomed out all the way and managed to capture one of the lionesses leaping with her reflection. I then later inverted the photograph to increase the visual interest. ____________________ #rhinoafrica #rhinogram #animallove #loves_wildlife #wildanimals #bucketlistgoals #travelafrica #travelgram #luxurytravel #wildlife #wildlifephotography #africanwildlife #safarigram #safari #safariphoto #safariaddict #travelgoals

“Dancing in the Rain – It was a very gloomy and rainy afternoon in Walvis Bay, Namibia, and we just got to our lodge. Across the street, by the ocean’s shore, we saw a few dozens of flamingos. „8. ENVIRONMENTAL: Variety is key and that includes capturing wildlife within its environment using wide-angle lenses such as this Giant Malagasy Chameleon crossing a road in the iconic Baobab Alley in Madagascar. You can probably tell I also laid down on the dirt for this low perspective and note the eye contact of the chameleon. Be sure to combine several of the tips I’ve outlined here to create really strong images.“ – @shannon__wild #RAtakeover #AfricasPhotographerOfTheYear __________ #rhinoafrica #rhinogram #wildlifephotography #safariphoto #safari #safariphotography #travelgoals #africa #travel #wildlife #wild #photographer #photography #photofeature #phototips #apoty #photographytips #photographytipsandtricks

„7. THE DETAILS: Not every wildlife image has to be a full body or even portrait. Remember to capture the details! I shot several different ‘close-up’ detail shots of this zebra, including the mane, the ears, a tight if it’s beautiful striped pattern and this one of its muzzle. This stands out as a favourite to me because of that one little piece of dry grass in the lips, which gives the image another point of interest.“ – @shannon__wild #RAtakeover #AfricasPhotographerOfTheYear __________ #rhinoafrica #rhinogram #wildlifephotography #safariphoto #safari #safariphotography #travelgoals #africa #travel #wildlife #wild #photographer #photography #photofeature #phototips #apoty #photographytips #photographytipsandtricks

“2. CAPTURE THE ACTION: Capturing wildlife behaviour can be some of the most rewarding and challenging images you’ll ever take. The higher your shutter speed, the better you’ll be able to capture movement sharply, such as this Verreaux’s Sifaka running in Madagascar. The middle focus point on your camera is the most accurate, especially in low contrast or low-light situations. Use single-point focus, press the shutter half way and then recompose your shot to frame it how you want. If your subject is moving, switch to AF-C, which is Continuous Auto-Focus on Nikon (known as AI-Servo AF on Canon) and the camera will do it’s best to track the moving subject as you follow it. And don’t be afraid of Manual Focus, sometimes it’s best if your camera is struggling to find focus for you.” – @shannon__wild #RAtakeover #AfricasPhotographerOfTheYear __________ #rhinoafrica #rhinogram #wildlifephotography #safariphoto #safari #safariphotography #travelgoals #africa #travel #wildlife #wild #photographer #photography #photofeature #phototips #apoty #photographytips #photographytipsandtricks
