What better way to occupy these rainy winter days than to treat yourself to high tea at MannaBay Boutique Hotel. With a four person MannaBay high tea being offered at a price for three, there is no excuse not to indulge in these sweet treats.

The luxury boutique hotel sits back against the foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town while facing equally enviable views of the city below. Making use of its floor-to-ceiling glass windows it showcases the bay from The V&A Waterfront all the way towards Table View. Coming to a stop outside a steep driveway in Oranjezicht, MannaBay‘s full splendour is hidden from view but walking through the doorway, you realise just why this is a five-star award-winning boutique hotel.

From chocolate ganache cake topped with fresh raspberries and caramel walnut brownies to sun-dried tomato quiches and salmon with cream cheese on crackers, there are these and many more treats to indulge in at the MannaBay high tea.

The tea and coffee served by the kitchen is unlimited while homemade elder flower and lemon iced tea is regularly replenished while you enjoy the company of other high tea lovers. You are welcome to roam the garden that leads out from the lounge, taking your coffee with you. Both the MannaBay high tea and breakfast (which consists of a vast spread for all tastes) are available to the public without a room reservation but these services are all-inclusive to guests staying at the boutique hotel.

Interior designer Joe Jacob is responsible for crafting the look of all eight individually themed rooms while the art that can be seen on every wall is curated from local South African artists. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable not only about the hotel but regarding all that the Mother City has to offer as well, providing several itineraries for guests should they need them.

The library wall in the dining area allows guests to select a book to keep which they pay for either by donating another book or paying a small fee. The proceeds from this are donated to a cause that feeds abandoned dogs and cats in neighbouring Camps Bay.

Both the hotel lounge and dining areas can be booked for private functions with a capacity to accommodate 16pax on weekdays and 6pax on weekends. Whatever your needs, the MannaBay Boutique Hotel has all the expertise necessary to meet them.
