Fairest Cape tops travel destinations

By Matthew Sterne on December 1, 2008

You know life’s not too bad when your home city is among the world’s top destinations. And there really is nowhere better to be based as an African tour operator than in Cape Town.

So it came as little suprise to Rhino Africa when our beloved Cape was recently voted the world’s favourite city by British tourists, scooping the travel award ahead of San Francisco, Sydney and Vancouver.

In a poll of 40 000 Daily Telegraph readers, the Mother City showed its class by coming out tops in their 2008 Travel Awards. And South Africa didn’t fare too badly either, coming in 3rd place as a favourite country destination, behind New Zealand and Australia

Travel awards are not something new for the Mother City. It has been voted Africa’s Best City by US Travel and Leisure Best in the World Awards, the Best Travel Destination in Africa and Middle East by US Travel & Leisure again and one of the World’s five Bluest Sky Destinations by Expedia! And it is doing its part for the environment too, having been voted one of ten global cities most likely to become a global sustainability centre by 2020.

But what is remarkable is how Cape Town has survived the worldwide recession and credit crunch to retain its position as Africa and the world’s leading city for travellers. In fact, a holiday to these southern shores is actually 10-15% cheaper now than a few months ago due to favourable exchange rates. Visit the fairest Cape while these rates last!

Based in the heart of the city, at the base of the majestic Table Mountain and a stone’s throw away from the Atlantic Ocean, Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and multiple other attractions, we really are your Cape Town experts. And our tour and transfer division Rhino Tripping will make sure you savour the sights and sounds of this remarkable region with a full range of Day Tours to Cape Point, the Winelands, the whales of Hermanus and more!

We can offer hands-on advice from where to stay, where to wine and dine, what to see, when to come and much much more! We interact with clients on a personal basis and we can deal with any problems or requests you may have during your stay. It is our pleasure.

And what’s more when you are in town, you can always pop into our offices for a chat and glass of wine! Or two…
