Cape Town Bags More Travel Awards

By Craig Harding on May 21, 2009

In just one month, Cape Town has bagged two more travel industry awards, cementing its place as one of the world’s leading tourist destinations.

The City was declared Africa’s best travel destination by the World Travel Awards at the Travel Indaba in Durban on the 11th of May 2009. This is the second year running that the Mother City has won this award. As if we needed more reasons for living and working here! And in Switzerland last month, Cape Town was awarded top honours in the Best Entertainment Destination category at the International Luxury travel exhibition. The World Travel Awards are sometimes referred to as the travel industry Oscars!

Also at the travel awards, The Mount Nelson Hotel was declared Africa’s leading hotel, and Cape Town Tourism was a finalist in the Best Tourism Organisation in Africa and best marketing Campaign in Africa awards.

Clearly Cape Town is ready for the 2010 World Cup and the tourism influx, Now!
