Today at 12 noon South Africa erupted to the sound of the Vuvuzela. From one end of the country to the other people lined the streets and blew their Vuvuzela’s. Tourists already here for the World Cup may have been surprised by the racket, but they soon got into the swing of things. One person commented that for 15 minutes South Africa was officially the loudest place on Earth. Suddenly the word Vuvuzela was on everyone’s lips and many actual Vuvuzelas were on peoples lips, #Vuvuzela became a trending topic on twitter and people the world over wanted to know: what is a Vuvuzela? Many weeks ago we posted a World Cup survival guide which included a description of the Vuvuzela, yet today many were still confused as to what one actually was. So to help you understand fully, here’s a quick visual guide to the famed instrument.
