We're not sure how it's possible, but seeing Africa from above makes us fall even more in love with her. Let's embark on a journey together, celebrating the beauty and diversity of the mother continent from a unique perspective.

1

Sabi Sand is one of Africa's prime safari destinations

What a spectacular way to kick off our journey! Sabi Sand is a private game reserve in South Africa and is home to an abundant array of wildlife, including the famous Big 5. With its expansive wilderness and incredible wildlife sightings, this reserve is a dream safari destination for photographers, bird-watchers, nature enthusiasts and everyone in between.

2

Victoria Falls from above

Victoria Falls is also known as the "Smoke that Thunders"

Looking at this photo, it's no surprise that Victoria Falls is named one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Choose to experience it up close and personal, where you can feel the waterfall's spray on your face or soar high above it in a thrilling helicopter ride to soak up the views from afar. It really is a spectacle like no other, but don't take our word for it, ask our Travel Experts how it'll best fit into your itinerary.

3

Sossusvlei from above

Sossusvlei from above is a spectacular sight

Dating back 55 million years, the Namib Desert proudly holds the title of the world's oldest desert. It's home to remarkably adapted flora and fauna and is the quintessential image of Namibia photographed from above.

4

Zanzibar beach from above

Just look at that clear, turquoise ocean

Did you know that Zanzibar is not just one island but a chain of islands? This luxurious getaway offers an incredible array of exciting experiences. From pristine beaches and thrilling ocean activities to captivating historical and cultural tours and unforgettable wildlife encounters, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, it's easy to combine with an East Africa safari in Kenya or Tanzania

5

The Great Migration moves through the Maasai Mara every year

The Great Migration is another extraordinary event on every safari enthusiast's bucket list. Each year, millions of wildebeest embark on an incredible round-trip journey between Tanzania and Kenya in search of greener pastures. We highly recommend you go on a hot air balloon safari to enjoy one of the best vantage points to witness this awe-inspiring spectacle

6

Bloukrans Bridge is located near Nature's Valley on the Garden Route

Fancy yourself a bit of a daredevil? The Bloukrans Bridge along the Garden Route is the highest bridge on the continent and offers exceptional views. Enjoy the scenery from this vantage point by taking a Skywalk Tour, where you can stroll along its suspended walkway. Or, if you're up for an adrenaline rush, take the experience to new heights by bungee jumping off the bridge. This unforgettable adventure will leave you in awe of South Africa's stunning natural beauty.

Flamingos as far as the eye can see in Walvis Bay, Namibia

In the coastal haven of Walvis Bay, Namibia, this mesmerising sight awaits. A flamboyance of elegant flamingos paint the waters with vibrant hues of pink. As these birds wade gracefully through the lagoons in search of their favourite food, their movement resembles a ballet performance in nature. Get your binoculars and cameras ready to capture these magnificent creatures in motion.

8

The mesmerising Drakensberg Amphitheatre

This majestic South African mountain range, the Drakensberg, a breathtaking natural wonder and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is ready to be explored. It reaches impressive heights, with its highest peaks soaring to around 3,482 metres (11,420 feet) above sea level. This mountain range boasts the most exquisite views as far as the eye can see.

Solitary oryx standing on a sand dune in Sossusvlei desert

The oryx, also known as the gemsbok, is a magnificent antelope species known for its ability to adapt to arid environments such as the Namib Desert. Because of the harsh terrain, this naturally solitudinous animal often roams alone in search of food and water. Without competing or sharing these resources with others, the oryx maximises its chance of survival while reducing the risk of attracting attention from predators by staying out of larger herds.

10

Okavango Delta from above

One of our favourite views is seeing the Okavango Delta from a bird's-eye view

Visit Botswana's Okavango Delta for extraordinary views and wildlife encounters. With many of the camps and lodges only accessible by charter flights, this is the perfect location to get away from reality and treat yourself to a digital detox. While most safaris occur on land, why not immerse yourself in a captivating eye-level encounter with a hippo on a traditional mokoro (canoe) safari? Or take to the skies for an awe-inspiring safari experience from above.
