Having just returned from a whirl wind tour of Victoria Falls, Chobe, Caprivi Strip and Livingstone, I am about to head off to Kwa-Zulu Natal in the North East of South Africa.

A brief note on Chobe…this being my first water-based safari experience, I have returned a “twitcher” (avid birder) as the birldlife is prolific. The Fish Eagles were definitely a highlight!

The bush in Chobe has this completely wild feel about it, animals simply getting on with their daily life despite villages having sprung up here and there. I love the whole pace of being in the bush, you simply get time to relax and get back to basics.

This week end we will be spending our first night at Fugitives Drift, should prove to be interesting given the unfortunate, recent events. I will certainly give you an update on the latest sentiments in the community.

Our second night will be spent in the Wilderness Safaris’ magnificent Rocktail Bay, which is situated in the northern reaches of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. I cannot wait since we will be inland from the warm Indian Ocean and one of the most incredible beaches in all of South Africa!!

You can be rest assured I will give you full update on my return!
