I don’t have children, but if I did, then I’d definitely consider taking them to Honeyguide Khoka Moya !

So many private lodges the Kruger National Park – South Africa, with famous names such as the Sabi Sands, Timbavati and the Private Concessions within the Kruger Park are designed for honeymooners, guests traveling with teenagers, and those looking to spent romantic time together, that it comes as an absolute pleasure to have a camp such as Honeyguide Khoka Moya who welcome families so warmly!

Honey Guide Khoka Moya’s game rangers are carefully trained to educate children, and to make the game drives fun and interesting.  The rangers are great with kids and teach them a variety of things. From frogging (where you learn the different frog calls), to tracking (learning to differentiate the different animal prints), to learning to use binoculars to spot birds, or simply learning how to change the tyre of a land rover! Many lodges require children to be 5 or 6 years of age in order to go on Game Drive, at Honeyguide Khoka Moya, as long as the children are well behaved and can sit quietly during the animal sightings, the camp manager will allow children of any age to go on game drive.

The food is kid friendly, and whilst Mum and Dad can tuck into the culinary delights of their well trained chefs, the basics like Fish fingers, Burgers, Pizzas and Spaghetti Bolognaise are on hand so that the kids feel completely at home.

The safari style hemingway tents accommodate 2 guests, but the camps staff can comfortable add extra beds into the tents so that the kids can sleep in the same tent as the parents. The tents are sufficiently big enough to allow this. Khoka Moya has a large swimming pool, for everyone to enjoy during the summer months (October – March).

For guests looking to ‘escape’ children (their’s or other people’s!) then Honeyguide Mantobeni, only accepts children over the age of 12 and therefore has more grown up and adult feel about it.

Traveling with children, can get expensive and therefore, Honey Guide Khoka Moya ’s affordable rates are another strong and plus point.
