I just love the African bush! The feeling you get when you arrive at a lodge like Tanda Tula is just unforgettable and the memories of your time there will remain with you forever.
I was lucky enough to spend 3 nights over the weekend in the Kruger region on safari. After visiting a number of lodges our last stay was at Tanda Tula (and for me a case of “saving the best for last”).
Tanda Tula is situated in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park. With only a few visitors and a limited number of game-viewing vehicles traversing on thousands of hectares of immaculate African bush it really offers you an amazing safari experience. On arrival at the lodge you are greeted by friendly staff smiles and a refreshing drink before being escorted to your luxury tented accommodation.
The tents are just beautiful with crisp linen, heaters, fans, outside deck chairs, slippers (which you are allowed to take home with you) and stunning bathrooms with a very relaxing Victorian bath and what must be the best outdoor shower in the bush.
Going out on our evening game drive we were amazed by the incredible lion sightings. Our first stop we came across two beautiful male lions feeding on a buffalo kill – what a sighting! Moving on we drove down a dry riverbed and came across another pride of lions with one lion cub. I could have sat all night watching this precious cub playing! After our sundowner drinks, Brian, our on the ball ranger and managaer of Tanda Tula wowed us with his knowledge of the stars.
Back at camp we were spoilt by the staff’s generous hospitality and great food. Tanda Tula is a very special lodge that offers you a very ‘real’ safari experience. I would confidently recommend this lodge to anyone!
Thank you so much to Brian, Inspirational Places and all the staff at Tanda Tula for the amazing experience!
