We’ve done it again! This year’s World Travel Awards, the event that rewards excellence in all sectors of the travel industry, took place earlier this month in Durban and, for the sixth year running, Rhino Africa has walked away with the big prize of Africa’s Leading Safari Company 2018! We’re ecstatic to have been honoured again at the 2018 World Travel Awards and we couldn’t have done it without our wonderful suppliers, our Rhino crash and of course, our delightful guests. We’re so excited to continue defining what it means to offer bespoke African safaris.

Other wins at the 2018 World Travel Awards include our favourite properties, Silvan Safari which was voted as Africa’s Leading Luxury Lodge as well as South Africa’s Leading Luxury Lodge for the first time and MannaBay which was named Africa’s Leading Design Hotel and South Africa’s Leading Design Hotel for the third year running. We love these two properties for their focus on luxury and intimacy while remaining leaders in sustainability.

Silvan Safari invites guests to the wildlife spectacle that is the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. With only a small number of suites and a secluded luxury experience that is all-inclusive, this safari lodge encapsulates the best that Africa has to offer. Venture into the wilderness to discover the Big 5 or unwind under ancient trees while relishing the utmost privacy. Silvan treasures its knowledgeable staff most of whom are from the local community – all forming part of Rhino Africa’s drive to support one of the last truly wild spaces in the world.

MannaBay on the other hand lies just below breathtaking views of Table Mountain in Cape Town and provides a sophisticated boutique hotel experience. Designed with the keen eye of a talented local interior decorator, this establishment is at the forefront of excellence not only in terms of design but also sustainability. Guests are welcomed to stay in one of eight rooms, each with its own theme, indulge in days by the swimming pool with snacks from high tea and venture out into the Mother City on bespoke tours arranged by the attentive staff.

Rhino Africa creates bespoke luxury trips with a big focus on our continent’s spectacular safaris for all of our clients. We aim to leave a legacy of wildlife protection and conservation of Africa’s local communities through our CSR initiatives. We are so honoured to receive this award as it confirms that we are a part of making positive change and providing a service that is in a league of its own.
