Sossusvlei
Sossusvlei is the oldest desert in the world. Probably Namibia's greatest tourist attraction, it's located in the Namib-Naukluft Park. The tallest dune, Big Daddy, is around 325m high and will make you feel tiny in comparison! These dunes are easy to reach and an hour's drive from the park's Sesriem entrance gate.
The dunes are best viewed at daybreak when the tips are drenched in a honeyed light, contrasted against the pale hues of the clay pans at their base.

Etosha National Park and Surrounds
Once upon a time, the seemingly endless Etosha pan was an ancient inland sea. Today, it's a wildlife haven. Located in Namibia's 22 750km² Etosha National Park and covered with a thick layer of algae across the surface in the summer, the Etosha pan attracts flocks upon flocks of birds. The park is home to over 340 bird species and over 114 mammals, making this a dream luxury safari destination in Southern Africa.

The variety of vegetation found in the park is striking. It nourishes various game while also sheltering endangered species like the black rhino, black-faced impala and tsessebe antelope.

Damaraland
Damaraland lies between the Skeleton Coast in the west and Etosha National Park in the east. Famous for its Petrified Forest, you can marvel at the large tree trunks that have famously "turned to stone" over time.
This region lures travellers with many activities. These include tracking wild rhino, hiking up the Brandberg Mountain to view the famous "White Lady" Bushman painting, and marvelling at other engravings at Twyfelfontein. Or you can go on early morning and sunset game drives and visit the geological wonders of Spitzkoppe and Vingerklip.

In Damaraland, you'll find little to no permanent water sources. Yet, miraculously, animals like the black rhino, lion and elephant are capable of roaming vast distances in search of food and water sources, being well-adapted to the desert landscape.

Caprivi
The Caprivi is a thin strip of land that makes up the northeast region of Namibia. Six local tribes call the area home, and it shares its borders with Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The Chobe, Kwando, Linyanti and Zambezi rivers surround this strip of land.

Caprivi's appeal lies in the untouched nature of its surroundings. Many of the luxury lodges are located on the banks of the Zambezi River, encompassed by marshy forests and rich waterways. Therefore, they offer various water- and land-based activities to explore the area up close. The area is home to plenty of bird species, four of the Big 5, and an extensive list of antelope and game species.

Skeleton Coast
Skeleton Coast is an otherworldly location where the desert meets the Atlantic Ocean. Although the term "Skeleton Coast" once referred to the entire Namibian coastline, it now relates only to the sweep of land situated within the Skeleton Coast National Park. This park consists of 500km of shoreline, stretching from the Ugab River in the south to the Kunene River in the north.

Back in the day, sailors passed along Namibia's coastline to and from India. Due to the high winds, rough seas and thick morning mist along the coast, many ships never made it to their destination. As a result, a ship graveyard was born, known as "Skeleton Coast".
Skeleton Coast is a natural phenomenon, offering views of the whales, seals and sea lions frolicking in the ocean. You can also see lions, giraffes, springbok, rhinos and baboons further inland. The landscape is cinematic in its topography, ranging from mountainous dunes to lichen fields and beaches to riverbeds. We highly recommend an aerial helicopter tour for a bird's-eye view of this maritime cemetery.
