And with that, we're excited to share some brand-new luxury safari lodges across Africa opening in 2024 that our Travel Experts highly recommend. Each of these lodges holds and shares something special and should definitely be on your 2024 African safari bucket list!

Tswalu Loapi – Open Since March 2023

Situated in the northern part of South AfricaTswalu Kalahari Game Reserve is the largest private game reserve in South Africa and is a premier safari destination. That luxury touch is in their personal, hands-on service, privacy, exclusivity, and space! 

Loapi Tented Camp consists of four spacious one-bedroom and two two-bedroom safari homes spaced 50 metres apart. Therefore, it's ideal for the discerning traveller looking for complete privacy and solitude. Each home comes with a private safari vehicle, guide, tracker, dedicated house manager, and private chef.

Escape to this sanctuary that's enveloped by dramatic wilderness, savannah grasslands, rolling red dunes, and ancient mountains. Our guests can discover and explore the beauty of Tswalu on game drives, horseback rides, and even on walking safaris. And surrounded by vastness that's far removed from city lights, stargazing will leave you mesmerised.

Mokete Camp – Open Since September 2023

The Wilderness portfolio is synonymous with luxury ecotourism. Therefore, our guests experience exceptional service and high-end accommodation at any of their immaculate camps. Mokete Camp, located in the heart of Botswana, is no exception as a new limited-edition camp that will become a permanent camp in 2026. This provides for thrilling adventures and intimate encounters with the wild.

With only nine tents accommodating a total of 18 guests at a time, your safari experience will feel exclusive and intimate. Elephants roam around the camp, offering exceptional sights. Our guests are especially fond of the al fresco dining experiences with tantalising cuisine as they reminisce about their day's adventures.

Angama Amboseli – Open Since November 2023

You should definitely add Anagama Amboseli to your East African safari! Here, you'll find “super tuskers”, elephants with tusks so large they almost touch the ground! One of our highlights at Angama Amboseli is that you get access to uninterrupted views of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain on our continent. Our guests always gush about waking up every morning with a full view of this beauty without even getting out of bed.

Each of the ten suites was carefully designed and built to blend in with its surroundings, using a palette of natural materials like concrete, stone, rattan, and grass. Most notable, each space is oriented to have a full view of Mount Kilimanjaro through floor-to-ceiling screened doors.

Other than Africa’s famous mountain and the gentle giants roaming the land, our guests also get to see scores of other wildlife, including the zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, eland, warthog, and an abundance of birdlife. Kenya is a bucket-list-rich destination, with hot air balloon rides, walking safaris, photographic safaris, game drives, cultural experiences, wellness treatments, and many more.

New Luxury Safari Lodges Opening in 2024

Elewana Serengeti Explorer Camp – Opening January 2024

If you're looking for a front-row seat to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration in a modern, contemporary setting, Elewana Serengeti Explorer Camp is the one! The entire camp is configured so guests always have a view of the vast Serengeti plains. With 70 luxury Explorer Rooms and six suites, the camp is perfect for couples, families, groups, and friends. Each room is stylishly decorated and has spacious bathrooms, fully equipped with water-saving features, ample light, and counter space.

There are also multiple restaurants to choose from, each catering to a variety of experiences and palates. The main restaurant is designed with a live cooking counter and fresh juice bar to fully cater for your appetite during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For a more relaxed atmosphere, head to the Poolside Bistro and Bar for sharing platters at lunch. On the other end of the spectrum, you'll be treated to the Chef’s Table, a unique and intimate dining experience, including access to a well-stocked wine cellar.

On a starry night, make your way to the Boma Restaurant. This al fresco dining experience offers a dreamy dinner under the African starry skies where you'll enjoy African and Swahili dishes. Last but not least, the Deli and Coffee Shop is fully stocked with speciality coffees and teas, as well as freshly baked pastries, wraps, paninis, salads, and more.

Between relaxing at the pool and exploring the wild, guests are invited to unwind at the on-site spa or work up a sweat on the yoga deck or the fitness centre. Other facilities on the property include a photo studio, outdoor cinema, art gallery, children’s Bushcraft Centre, star gazing deck, and wine cellar.

Atzaro Okavango Camp – Opening March 2024

This 100% solar-powered, lavish lodge is the latest addition to African Bush Camp’s portfolio. With an eco-conscious design, Atzaro Okavango Camp does not compromise on luxury. It's accessible by helicopter, and the remote location is ideal for an exclusive experience in the heart of the Okavango Delta.

Each of the 12 spacious suites is stylishly decorated, incorporating various natural textures and floor-to-ceiling windows provide guests with unobstructed views of the Okavango Delta. Furthermore, each suite comes with a private plunge pool, as well as indoor and outdoor showers.

Guests can connect with nature during morning and evening game drives, venture out on mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) rides on the waterways, and embark on walking safaris. In between these adventures, opt for pamper treatments at the spa or unwind in the yoga studio, gym, or 20-metre-long pool. This one-of-a-kind lodge is ideal for families with children (all ages are welcome) and groups of friends.

Singita Milele – Opening May 2024

Singita is a personal favourite among our Travel Experts and guests alike. They're worthy of all the praise reflected by a long string of accolades and awards for their ultra-luxurious, personalised safari experiences in prime locations across Africa.

Singita Milele is an ultra-exclusive and high-end villa surrounded by the vast plains of the Serengeti wilderness. With five spacious and luxurious suites, the villa can accommodate up to ten guests. Therefore, it's perfect for families or groups of friends looking for a private, luxury safari in Tanzania. Our guests will be able to enjoy enchanted evenings around the firepit boma, admire the views from the infinity pool and savour tailor-made wine tastings from a selection of award-winning wines.

Tawana Camp – Opening May 2024

Natural Selection is known for its “feet-on-the-ground” safari experiences and connections. And our guests sure do have a ton of fun on their safari holidays! Soon, they'll also be able to enjoy a brand new camp in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana.

Because of its location, Tawana Camp will offer a magical discovery of the Okavango Delta, where the waterways are hugged by lush forests and grasslands. Here, our guests will be in awe of the high concentration of game and wildlife. You might just spot something roaming through the unfenced camp!

The camp will consist of eight expansive suites, three of which will be family suites. Each suite is designed with a private terrace, plunge pool, and outdoor sala. Therefore, you'll be able to relax in complete privacy as you immerse yourself in uninterrupted views of the Gomoti River!

In addition to twice-daily game drives, our guests are eager to discover the Okavango Delta from above via helicopter flights (additional charges will apply). It's a magnificent experience to see the veins of the Delta from a new perspective.
