Madame Zingara

by Katherine Terry

Last night Rhino Africa Management Team and their partners had the opportunity to let their hair down at Madame Zingara !

On all levels, Madame Zingara is a feast for the senses.

For many years Madame Zingara was regarded as one of the top restaurants in Cape Town. Bohemian and fun the restaurant, was tragically destroyed in a fire about 18 months ago.  Like a phoenix rising from the ashes Madame Zingara now takes the form of a travelling a circus, complete with Trapeze Artists, Clowns, Freaks and Singing Divas.

Madame Zingara has for the 'season' nailed its tent pegs into a disused part of Canal Walk. Despite its unlikely location nothing can quite prepare you for what awaits you inside. Velvet drapped curtains hang from the ceiling, red roses, barbie dolls, apples and snakes decorate the tables and the waiting staff can only be described as crazy !

Your encouraged to dress appropriately, and a costume shop inside, means that all manner of feather boas, tiaras, bunny ears, top hats, Dr. Spock Ears and fairy wings are on sale.

Then the show and meal begins. As trapeze artists float above you, you dine on a spectacular meal including Madame Zingara's signature dish - Fillet of Beef with Dark Chilli Chocolate Sauce. By the time desert arrives you are literally dancing on the tables, and by the end of the show, most of the guests are on their feet dancing to the sounds of Three Tons of Fun ( in our opinion Cape Town's most talented Divas ! )

As the pictures will testify we had the most fantastic evening and would highly recommend this as a perfect venue for guests who are looking for a party.

Booking is absolutely essential
