The past weekend saw 8 Rhinos go on a whirlwind tour of the Manyeleti and Timbavati Game Reserves.
It is our job to go see the properties that we sell and would like to sell to our clients. Our personal experience helps us sell the properties and in turn helps us recommend them to you.
We visited many lodges but the ones that stand out for me are Hamiltons Tented Camp - very colonial with walkways linking to the main lodge. Honeyguide Khoka Moya(children welcome) and Mantobeni - great value for money lodges with friendly staff, great food and game viewing.
Tanda Tula was the best for me with amazing tented rooms offering crisp white linen and spacious bathrooms with the best outdoor shower yet. Fantastic game viewing. Wake up call in the morning is accompanied by coffee and muffins but do not take your eye of the muffins as there are many other little eyes up in the trees watching you every move. I took my eye of my muffin for a second and it was gone. Little monkeys move through the trees and seem to have a taste for muffins. Fascinating creatures. Some of the best cat sightings I have seen in awhile. The cub sighting was so much fun to watch as this little bundle just could not keep still.
Whilst we drove from Johannesburg, I do strongly suggest either flying direct by charter light aircraft to the lodge or one a scheduled service to either Nelspruit or Hoedspruit. This makes travelling time much shorter and you get on safari far quicker. After all, you are here to relax and not spend 6 hours driving unless you have the time and the patience.
The hightlight of the trip for me was the White lions. The Timbavati was famous for its White Lions.Nowadays white lions are extinct in the wild and there are only 25 in existence in captivity. They are cared for as seen below. I want one but where would she sleep. My kingsize bed is way too small for this kitten.
So after all said, when next in Africa, take 3 nights out of your schedule and wind down at a safari lodge for some well deserved R&R.
Oh yes, did I mention that I can book this for you too...... drop me a line and lets get you on safari.
