It’s Movember Time!

November 3, 2011

It’s Movember 2011 and our ‘taches have begun!

The gentlemen in our office – well, the brave and hirsute ones – have jumped aboard the Movember cause. Although the aim is to raise money and awareness about male cancers, this year we will also be trying to raise some moola for the Wildlife Act Fund. While this isn’t strictly in the Movember code, the original Movember started in Australia and raised funds for the RSPCA, so we don’t think we’re jumping too far!

We’ll be taking a photo of the mustaches every day to chart the hair growth progress. Look out for some crazy photos over the course of the month as we try to raise awareness for the cause.

The Rules for the month of Movember are simple:

RULES:

  1. On Shadowe’en (October 31st), the complete moustache region, including the entire upper lip and the handlebar zones, must be completely shaved.
  2. For the entire duration of Movember (November 1 – 30 ), no hair shall be allowed to grow in the goatee zone – being any facial area below the bottom lip.
  3. There is to be no joining of the moustache to sideburns.

Failure to conform to all of these rules may, at the discretion of the official Movember Committee, result in a fine which is to be paid to the Wildlife Act Fund.

What can you do?

You can help, either by joining in and growing your own tache, by raising awareness or by donating. You can donate/sponsor us via the Wildlife Act Givengain page: https://wildlife.givengain.org.

DISCLAIMER:

The Movember Committee accepts no responsibility for lost jobs, any itching or rashes, any embarrassment caused by food or drink stuck in your fuzz, or any other such mishaps caused to the wearer (or his partner) of a Movember Moustache. You grew it yourself.
